Capturing an image that moves the viewer's eye around the frame can be no easy task, particularly when documenting something that's in motion. This picture, from photographer Olivia Rae James, brings our attention up, around, and out of the frame, starting with the luscious peaches, the perfectly ripe tomatoes, and the dangling bags of onions. We're sucked into this road-side shack, only to be taken away by the purveyors finger and the warm glance of the patron. And now we're active participants. All we want to know is this: What is he pointing at? More delectable produce, perhaps?

Touch a star-fruit to see what the skin is like, smell the clementine, listen to the talkers on the train, watch the sunrise again and again. Food writing is all about the senses and the more you hone yours, the stronger your work will be.–Monica Bhide
