Join Ellen Gray as she hosts CooknScribble’s first Camp Double Crust: All About the Apple on Sunday, October 8th from 10am-3pm In beautiful, historic Rensselaerville, NY (about 45 minutes from Hudson, NY).

Participate in a hands-on class where you will learn how to prepare an all-butter crust, select the right mix of apples, navigate sweeteners and spices while mastering how to thicken a juicy pie. We will roll top and bottom crusts, learn that there’s more than one way to transfer pie pastry to a pie plate, weave a lattice, crimp and bake a personal pie for you to take home.

In between we will sample local Hudson Valley apples and cider, enjoy an autumn inspired lunch, explore apple pie history and trouble shoot common apple pie problems. We’ll have time for a short writing piece centered around apple pie memories while our pies take a spin in the oven.
